MVL and MoEYS of Cambodia signed MOU to build “MVL Schools” in Phnom Penh

MVL Foundation Pte. Ltds, operates a mobility platform including ride-sharing service, delivery service, and electric vehicle sales in Southeast Asia, announced on the 12th that it had signed an MOU with MoEYS, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia.The ceremony was held online due to the pandemic situation.
MVL and the Cambodian Ministry of Education ensure in this MOU that both parties respect the Cambodian royal family, build schools in the outskirts of Phnom Penh in order, provide opportunities of digital education to the students, and do their best to maintain a clean environment for schools and provide MVL's mobility services to the school for the students and faculty members. The school will be named after ‘MVL’ under the permission of The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. This is the first school ever for the blockchain project to use its name to build the school.
This project is scheduled to get the ball rolling in the second half of 2021 near Phnom Penh, Cambodia. MVL, along with a local team in Cambodia, will be in charge of administrative tasks from site selection and construction of the school to employment of essential school staff, including teachers.
The Minister of Education of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia, Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, who led the signing of the MOU, said “in Covid-19 pandemic situation, children are now living in a more serious educational environment than before. Together with MVL, the mobility platform, it is great to provide the opportunity of learning digital education to children, as well as create more job opportunities to develop into a better society.”
Kay Woo, the CEO of MVL, also said that “This is a good opportunity to increase the number of practical use cases of a mobility platform, TADA, with a zero-commission policy with MoEYS. We will do our best to improve circumstances where primary schools lack basic facilities, and our 90 employees in Cambodia to fully support that students and teachers can comfortably use our mobility services, including taxi and delivery service”.
Meanwhile, MVL is currently successfully building a comprehensive mobility platform in Southeast Asia with a cumulative number of subscribers of 1.11 million and total orders of about 4.15 million. At the end of the year, after successfully building an EV charging station (ONiON) in Cambodia, MVL plans to start selling EVs too.
