# Speech from CEO of MVL - Kay Woo

The reason why we are starting this ceremony and what we are doing right now is that we want to build the school and support it. The school system in Cambodia is very simple and straightforward.

From the beginning, we want to support the drivers in Cambodia, and we want to support livelihoods or nation people in Cambodia. That's the biggest reason. And the First Fundamental thing is actually we want to support the family of the drivers, and that was the beginning thought for us, and we want to help and participate one small part of this education of Cambodia.

And by building this school and participating in supporting this, we want to create more jobs and support the teachers and the students in Cambodia. Especially we want to support the students who's studying in elementary school. And with the current pandemic situation, there is more need for the students in Cambodia to be supported with the good hands and good mind. So that's what we want to do. By taking this initiation, we want to bring more livelihood, fortune, and support from all over the world.

Through this collaboration with the MoEYS, we want to bring a good system of infrastructure for internet education and all the contents. By doing this, we want to bring stronger fundamental help for the MoEYS and related families and students as well.

It is a very big honor for us to be a part of this to support children in Cambodia. Thank you.

So far, because of Covid-19 pandemic and the community outbreak, we had to keep our school close and also encourage schools to provide online learning.

However, we found there were digital gaps between those who can afford the technology to provide online learning and those families and schools that do not have infrastructure. I would like to express gratitude for the good will and the commitment by MVL for supporting role-model schools and providing internet and infrastructure so even those who cannot afford can get access to education.

All of these have turned this Covid crisis into opportunities for digital education by creating online learning platforms as well as learning channels. However, the access to online learning is around 50 to 60% of Cambodian students, and we should continue to build more infrastructure and implement online learning even after the pandemic. Because the class size of the Cambodian school is more than 50-60 people, for social distancing, we should divide one class into two or three shifts, so that the students can learn and the rest can use either online learning, a self-study mode, or distance learning system. Moreover, it is also important to reinvent education, simplify curriculum, and train the teachers how to use technology.

Again, I appreciate all the support of MVL for developing the capacity of students and teachers to use technology, ensuring education to be continued, and especially changing this crisis into the opportunity of new education and technology.

Thank you.

[Purpose and Objectives of Signing MOU]

  • The MOU aims to enable access to education for Cambodian students, particularly those that are less fortunate.

  • Improve current educational infrastructure as well as strengthen its curriculum so that students can maximize their learning experience.

  • Introduce an ICT approach to education so that students can learn faster and be ready for future technology adoption.

In this MOU, MVL, together with MoEYS from Cambodia, will build schools, which will be named after ‘MVL’, in the outskirts of Phnom Penh in order. Both agreed to provide opportunities for digital education to the students, as well as provide MVL's mobility services to the school for the students and faculty members. This will be the first school ever for the blockchain project to use its name to build the school.

MVL will continue to proceed with various CSR activities, so please give us full support.

Trust-Driven,

MVL
